Lori Oglesbee Named National Yearbook Adviser of the Year
Lori Oglesbee, JEA’s newest Yearbook Adviser of the Year,
has advised the yearbook at McKinney HS for a dozen years.
Prior to that, she advised yearbooks at a junior high and
high schools in Louisiana and Arkansas. Her varied locations
and grade levels have provided her with a wide range of
experiences to draw upon.
A nationally recognized yearbook adviser and workshop instructor,
Lori is known for her generosity. She gives and gives and gives
some more. When teaching advanced advisers at Taylor’s
Adviser Development workshop, Lori astounds them with her store
of knowledge and seemingly limitless resources. After all, someone
with Lori’s knowledge, creativity and energy can come up with a
new way to teach something or a fresh approach to publications
management or a unique angle for coverage.
Through her generosity, she encourages the possibilities in people.
They feel renewed and ready to take on new challenges when armed
with fresh resources.
Lori Oglesbee, a master teacher by any definition, is in a league
of her own when it comes to her contributions as a yearbook adviser,
an educator, a presenter, a committee chair, a workshop coordinator,
a curriculum developer, an author, a judge, and a mentor.
Congratulations, Lori!
